We say you should TRASH your company website right now!

And don’t even think of trying to get it back!

dumpster diving 6 Reasons Why Real Estate Brokers Need To Have A Wordpress Blog!Let us tell you why WordPress is the ideal online tech solution for Real Estate Professionals.

So just what makes WordPress so great?

We have listed 6 reasons why you should dump your company website today and start using WordPress for your company’s online presence.

WordPress has several fundamental out-of-the-box features that make it a hundred times better than your current website.

1.  Reduce your expenses

Monthly Hosting – My brokerage website was costing me a couple hundred dollars each month for hosting & IDX.  Additionally I had to pay a $600-$800 setup fee.

WordPress hosting is $10 a month or less!

Maintenance fees – No more lengthy delays and expensive fixes or repairs needed.  WordPress doesn’t require any special design or html skills. If you have ever wanted to change something on your website or had a problem of some sort then you already know how frustrating this can be … get ready for FEES!

Website designers typically charge anywhere from $50 – $300 per hour to make the simplest of changes. Don’t expect your changes/fixes to be completed quick either.

You make your own changes to WordPress!

Inexpensive Design – Well I said it all in the maintenance fee section above…

Designer fees are NOT cheap!  And Designers do NOT work quickly!  Web designers were perfect for the old school realtor generation “ego advertising” – but times have shifted so that Realtors must be focused on staying relevant and quickly.

WordPress has thousands of FREE themes to choose from.

We recommend you spend the $60-$80 for a paid theme simply because these designers can afford to offer support if you have problems.

Consider Studiopress which has lots of options or the Thesis theme from Diy themes which this site uses

2.  WordPress Plugins

There is a WordPress plugin for just about anything you want  …

Similar to the iPhone applications, this is the real WOW Factor!  In addition to WordPress already being SEO friendly out-of-the-box, there are loads of excellent plugins – small peices of software – that will greatly improve on your site optimization.

There really is a plugin for just about everything a Real Estate Professional will ever need:  IDX, Just Sold stats, Lead Capture forms, Auto Responders, Site Analytics and so much more.

Most WordPress plugins are free. You can browse the thousands of wordpress plugins here.

3.  Search Engine Optimization

WordPress is search engine friendly right out-of-the-box!

Much more so than any traditional static website.  Most static websites are designed and coded for aesthetics while WordPress is designed and coded for Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

4.  WordPress has become a universal language

WordPress is by far the new standard when it comes to blogging.

This means that people across the world are developing new applications/plugins to work with WordPress, ultimately improving your user experience.

Think of it like: applications for the iPhone.

5.  You own your content and have complete control

This may be the most important reason why you need to have a WordPress Blog .. .

You must own your domain and host it on your own account.  We recommend that you use Hostgator for hosting, their support is excellent and the pricing is right.

When you post your content on other blog sites like: activerain, blogger, blogspot, wordpress.com, etc. you do NOT own or have complete control over your content.  Doing this would be like paying for and building your home on someone else’s land.  Would you do that?

6.  Flexibility

Automation at its finest! WordPress blogs easily integrate …

with all of your social media sites like: facebook, twitter, etc…

Within minutes you can put up a new WordPress real estate blog.

WordPress is conducive to creating neighborhood, individul agent and niche pages.  This provides an excellent way for Brokers to highlight their agent team and the company listings.

Single listing property sites can be posted in minutes with complete control of the agent.

It is easy to aggregate / automate content via RSS onto a single WordPress blog page. This is important because you can display content from your local newspaper or even The Wall Street Journal right on your site.

Have we convinced you to switch to WordPress for YOUR real estate broker site yet?

If we have you should explore this site, as it offers all the tutorials and WordPress video lessons you would need to get you up and running quickly.

If you are not up to doing it yourself we have several levels of initial setup, or you can hire Drew and Peter as mentors to get your online strategy right from the very start and get you going even quicker!
