Finding a niche for your real estate blog
Establishing your niche, or even multiple niche's in your real estate market ..
If you have no idea what real estate niche to choose we suggest you consider exploiting the short sale market. I can't tell you how many Realtors have told me they don't want to be involved with short sales – but the reality is they are here and they are here to stay for some time. 
According to First American and reported in Reuters (May 09) one in five homeowners are under water – i.e. they owe more than their home is worth – in California and Florida it's worse with 3 out of 10.
That's over 8 million homes in the US.
In Nevada 55 percent of home owners have negative equity, Michigan had 40 percent of its homeowners underwater, while Arizona had 32 percent. The economic measures the Administration is implementing will help, but it will be fiscally impossible to help everyone out of this mess.
So you had better get used to the reality of short sales!
There could be a great deal of homeowners in your real estate market who will need the help of a professional real estate agent to get them out from under and it might as well be you.
There are plenty of courses you can take to get you up to speed with how to process the paperwork, what you can and cannot do legally in your State – we have provided some suggestions for you: Tim Burrell has a ton of short sale information on his real estate site and Oscar Morante has a full online short sale course to get you up to speed.
Tip: There is actually nothing wrong with having several blog sites aimed at different real estate market segments. Once you have the learning curve down, setting up a new site to attract a different consumer is much easier – you already have the hosting and if you use the same theme the cost is virtually nil – that's zero, no $'s …
