Peter is an active real estate agent …

… who has tried everything and narrowed down what works on social media – and just as importantly, what is a waste of time or money.

As a self acknowledged “techie” agent, Peter uses the web to find buyers and sellers for his team.

Peter arrived from the UK in February 1997. Hardly knowing anyone in the US he started his real estate career trying what his Broker recommended; doing open houses for other agents listings and office floor time, plus a bit of postcard farming.

This did not sit well with Peter as he was meeting people he had no connection with, it simply didn’t suit his style. So the following year (1998) he started building websites with a trusty copy of Microsoft Frontpage.

While toiling away in his cubicle another agent in his office asked incredulously “You want to meet people on the Internet?” to which his responses was

“OOhhh, yes please”.

It wasn’t long before the first internet buyer found Peter.

It soon became apparent that potential clients felt that they already knew Peter before they met, based on what they had learned on the website. This was a fledgling relationship not dissimilar to a referral from a mutual friend

Bingo! Peter had found his niche!

After that first sale, there was absolutely no looking back.

Always an early adopter Peter started blogging back in 2004, when none of his contemporaries knew he was talking about.
